Immersing visitors into the story of the Great War – to ensure they never forget
The In Flanders Fields Museum in Ypres, Belgium, is a place where you feel, hear and understand the horrors of the First World War. Hundreds of thousands of people from around the world visit the museum every year to learn about the terrible years of battle in the Ypres region and hear how ‘ordinary people’ experienced the war.
When revamping the museum in 2012, the curators resolutely chose a narrative approach and interactive technology to enhance the visitor experience. Barco helped them achieve their goal: one Barco F35 and nine Barco F22 projectors help tell the story of the war that led to unprecedented destruction and loss of lives in the region of Ypres.

The KMSKA is a museum housing a top collection of fine art from the 14th to the 20th century with international appeal. After being closed for eleven years, the cultural icon re-opened its doors at the end of September 2022 to welcome visitors back in a renovated and extended museum. Included in the renewed museum is a Barco-powered projection space where visitors are immersed in painting details.

“Tim Burton, Labyrinth” was inaugurated in September 2022, at Espacio Ibercaja Delicias in Madrid. This immersive exhibition, unique in the world, takes place in an authentic labyrinth where attendees are invited to discover Tim Burton’s eccentric world. The famous film director’s distinctive universe is recreated through carnivalesque statues of his characters and video projections of his extensive filmography, sketches and original works.

The Shougang Park, built in 1919, took on the successful closing ceremony of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games and is a new landmark of the city's revival. After renovation, it became a modern exhibition venue. On New Year's Eve, Shougang Park, the host of Beijing's New Year's countdown for the third consecutive year, set up an immersive experience with three-dimensional projection mapping scenes through the flexible use of 3D digital technology.
