We knew that Barco’s video-over-IP technology would enable them to share uncompressed, high-resolution videos with near-zero latency.” Gulf Medical set up Barco’s Nexxis video-over-IP technology in eight ORs as an integrated part of the Karl Storz OR1 Fusion Solution. Thanks to the OR1 Fusion fully integrated operating room solution, the surgeons can now interact and communicate between ORs and auditoriums to share insights with peers, ask second opinions or even train colleagues or students.

In addition to the Nexxis technology, Gulf Medical Solutions also installed 16 MDSC-2226 and 5 MDSC-2242 surgical displays with built-in Nexxis decoders, which are fully compatible with the OR1 Fusion. Their ease of use and cleanability make them a perfect fit for operating rooms. Most importantly, the displays provide the surgeons at the Al-Hada Military Hospital ORs with accurate, realistic images in full HD resolution with an excellent viewing angle.
