Amazing video and light shows to accompany heavenly music

Leading musicians and orchestras performing in an amazing setting: that’s the secret behind two of Poland’s most famous music festivals: the Sacrum Profanum Festival and the Festival of Film Music. Each year, the award-winning events draw crowds of music lovers to the city of Kraków. And each year, the critics are raving.

On the program at the 2013 Sacrum Profanum Festival were some big names of the alternative music scene, like Frank Zappa, Brian Eno and Portishead. Just like in previous years, the Festival managed to perfectly blur the line between contemporary music, often treated as difficult and incomprehensible, and the developments in ambitious entertainment and the experimental scene. The 2013 edition of the Festival of Film Music, for its part, combined the highest quality of movie soundtracks performed by leading musicians and orchestras with high-quality film pictures. From reviews of retrospective and exclusive ceremonial concerts and monographic concerts of distinguished film music composers through to mass shows in the open: the broad, international program succeeded in amazing everyone, for the sixth year in a row.

More than for their music, both Polish festivals are also distinguished by their fantastic production and innovative visual shows. In 2013, the Polish-based AV expert Visualsupport helped make this come true. They combined their own stack of Barco HDQ-2K40 and Barco HDX-W18 high-brightness projectors with Barco’s DP2K-32B digital cinema projectors and the FSN control system to create wonderful visual effects and backdrops. “The projectors again exceeded our expectations. We love Barco projectors,” concluded Magdalena Groblicka, Visualsupport’s director of sales and marketing.
