Upon moving to a new facility in 2015, Tata Power decided that it was time for a new, high-quality display solution in its Fleet Monitoring Center, to be able to meet today’s challenges head-on.

One of the largest electric cooperatives in North America, Georgia System Operations Corporation (GSOC) recently upgraded its transmission control center to modernize operations and provide greater situational awareness to its operators. The centerpiece is an expansive video wall solution developed by Critical Space Solutions and Barco, displaying crystal-clear data and graphics while empowering efficient visual collaboration.

When PPL moved its transmission control center to a brand new building, a new visualization platform was at the top of the list. “I knew that we’d experience not only improved image quality, but much lower operating costs with an LED wall,” comments Jeffrey Daniels, Senior Engineer–Transmission & Distribution for PPL. “It saves us both time and money since we’ve eliminated consumables and greatly reduced maintenance time. Plus, it’s much more reliable. The image quality is also excellent thanks to increased brightness.”

When it came time to renovate its operations control center, Austin Energy wanted to make a smart investment in visualization technology to ensure reliable power distribution for the long term.
