5.4.3 Securing the USB-C Extension over CAT to a surface

Transmitter and receiver

The installation procedure is the same for the receiver and the transmitter.

Possible orientations

The USB-C Extension over CAT devices can be installed in any desired orientation using, at least two of, the four screw holes (reference A). The key holes can only be used when the USB-C Extension over CAT device is installed in an upright position (reference B) or upside down position (reference C)

Supported surfaces

The USB-C Extension over CAT devices can be mounted on the following surfaces:

Tip: The USB-C Extension over CAT transmitter weighs 333 g and the USB-C Extension over CAT receiver weighs 315 g.

Determine the location of the USB-C Extension over CAT transmitter and receiver. For more information, see “Signal direction”.

How to secure

  1. How will the USB-C Extension over CAT device be installed?

    • For horizontally while using the keyholes, prepare two holes spaced 140 mm apart.
    • For vertically while using the keyholes, prepare two holes spaced 52 mm apart.
    • For any orientation while using the screw holes, prepare four holes with the horizontal holes spaced 140 mm apart and the vertical holes spaced 52 mm apart.

  2. Must the USB-C Extension over CAT device be secured using the key holes?

    • If yes, partially insert two M3.5 screws, with a minimum length of 16 mm, into the prepared holes. Go to next step.
    • If no, go to step 5.

  3. Slide the keys of the USB-C Extension over CAT over the two prepared screws (reference 1) to lock the keys.

  4. Tighten the two screws (reference 1, Image 5–46).

    The USB-C Extension over CAT device is installed. Go to step 7.

  5. Position the USB-C Extension over CAT device over the prepared holes as illustrated.

  6. Tighten four M3.5 screws (reference 2), with a minimum length of 16 mm, to secure the USB-C Extension over CAT device in place.

  7. Connect the cables to the USB-C Extension over CAT device.
