Yangon General Hospital relies on Barco as it leads the way in digital radiology diagnostics

Yangon, MM - 2016

With 24 specialist departments, 5 diagnostic departments, 1,500 beds and 700+ doctors and nurses, Yangon General Hospital is one of Myanmar’s most important public hospitals. Its highly-qualified medical staff and position as the nation’s premier teaching hospital make this hospital vital to the health and care of Myanmar’s general population. With such a critical role in medicine, YGH recognized the importance of going digital, investing in the nation’s first PACS system – a transformation that is also significant in the size of the project, usage numbers and modalities. The face of the new system? Barco Nio diagnostic displays.
Reputation for quality and experience

“Why Barco? We’ve been impressed with Barco displays since we first installed them. Barco’s reputation for quality and experience in the development of superior diagnostic displays precedes it,” explains Prof. Than Than Sint, Head of Radiology at YGH. Currently, the hospital has 4 Nio 3MP displays and a Nio 5MP display running full-time, relied upon by as many as 10 radiologists all day, 5 days a week. Nio displays offer the ultimate in crisp, high-brightness, flexible diagnostic solutions useful in the broad range of medical applications that are so vital to YGH.

Greater efficiency, confident diagnoses, better outcomes

As a result of its investment in Barco Nio displays, clinicians, specialists and radiologists at Yangon General Hospital have experienced greater efficiency and effectiveness when it comes to diagnosis, allowing them to take on greater workloads and focus on spending time with patients. “Combined with the Infinitt PACS, Barco Nio displays have really streamlined our workflows – which helps us deliver better outcomes as well. We have added more Barco displays in the last few years and will continue to invest in the future,” asserts Dr. Aung Cho Tun, Senior Consultant at Yangon General Hospital.
