All eyes have been on Oslo, over the past two days, where the European Union received this year’s Nobel Peace Prize. In tribute of the winner, around 7,000 people gathered at the Oslo Spektrum Arena on 11 December, for the glamorous Nobel Peace Prize Concert. Featuring a multitude of famous artists from around the world, the concert moves boundaries, year after year, to create a wonderful show. Six Barco HDX-W18 projectors, eight RLM-W8 and 100 Versa®TUBEs, installed by AVAB CAC Oslo, helped ensure the success of this year’s edition, which was broadcast to over 100 countries.

AVAB CAC has been the trusted supplier of lighting, sound and large screen video systems to the Nobel Peace Prize Concert for many years now. For the 2012 show, the large central stage screen was lit by three lampshade circles. While the outer circles were fed by two of Barco’s compact, yet ultra-bright HDX-W18 projectors each, four RLM-W8 projectors were used for the middle circle. On each side of the stage, live video was shown on a screen fed by a stacked RLM-W8 projector. During the laureate moment, two more Barco HDX-W18 projectors shed light onto the lowered center screen. On top of that, 100 Versa®TUBE LED-fixtures were used at the left side of the stage. Both the organizers and AVAB CAC were delighted with the bright, crisp images and rich colors displayed.

The Nobel Peace Prize Concert has been held annually since 1994 on 11 December, one day after the date of Alfred Nobel’s death. Hosted by Sarah Jessica Parker and Gerard Buller and featuring famous artists such as Kylie Minogue, Seal, Jennifer Hudson and the popular Belgian singer Milow, this year’s Nobel Peace Prize Concert was broadcast to over 100 countries around the world.
