Barco and Klipsch are helping movie exhibitors one step closer to delighting their patrons with 3D immersive cinema sound. The companies are offering a rebate program for theater owners implementing an Auro 11.1 by Barco cinema audio system, which is exclusive during the CinemaCon show in Las Vegas this week.

The Barco-Klipsch rebate program provides eligible exhibitors with a $1,000 rebate for a “new build” and $750 for a “retrofit” installation for each auditorium they equip with an integrated Auro 11.1 and Klipsch sound system. Rebates are available only to customers purchasing through Klipsch’s channel partners, and will be issued directly by Klipsch. The program is retroactive, enabling customers that purchased Auro.11 with Klipsch speakers 60 days prior to this week’s launch to take advantage of these rebates. Specific terms are outlined in information available from both manufacturers.

“Immersive sound is a vital ingredient in delivering a premium movie-going experience,” comments Patrick Lee, Vice President Digital Cinema for Barco North America. “We are excited to partner with Klipsch to help bring exhibitors one step closer to creating their cinema of the future.”

“The combination of Auro 11.1 and our ultra-high-fidelity speakers produces amazingly life-like cinema sound essential for bringing many of today’s movies to life. We are hopeful that this financial incentive empowers exhibitors to make the move now and begin reaping the rewards of this value-added solution,” said Dan Taylor, director of global cinema sales for Klipsch.
