Avatar Medical Vision software for 3D medical visualizations now FDA cleared

Avatar Medical has received FDA 510(k) clearance for Avatar Medical Vision, a software platform that transforms CT and MRI scans into interactive, multi-dimensional 3D representations for clinical use. The clearance includes compatibility with our glasses-free 3D display and thus forms the foundation of Eonis Vision, a joint solution by Barco and Avatar Medical that brings clinicians and patients together around a shared, real-time view of anatomy during consultations.

Designed especially for specialties where the anatomy is complex, Eonis Vision allows physicians and patients to view anatomy together in an intuitive three-dimensional format – no accessories or wearables like headsets and 3D glasses needed.

For patients facing major decisions such as whether to undergo surgery, this visual understanding can be profoundly empowering. Earlier this year, Eonis Vision was already recognized as CES Innovation Awards® 2026 Honoree in the category Digital Health.
