How to update the firmware
To update the firmware on a ClickShare Button, simply re-pair the Button with the Base Unit (how-to: see KB5924).
During this process:
- The Base Unit automatically sends the most recent firmware package to the Button.
- The ClickShare application on the Button is updated to the latest version.
Once paired, the Button does not need to be re-paired for each new firmware version installed on the Base Unit. The firmware update will happen automatically without disturbing the end-user by transferring the new firmware upon first next connection between Button and Base Unit what requires around 5 min. If the transfer was completed the new firmware will be enrolled upon next connection of the Button into a device.
Re-paring requirements
Re‑pairing to the Base Unit directly is required only when:
- The Base Unit’s connectivity settings change (e.g., SSID or network settings), or
- The Button needs to be used with a different Base Unit.
