PLASA Focus: where the Eurovision mania begins
1 min di lettura
Europe is currently counting down to one of the most watched non-sporting TV events of the year – the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC). Within exactly one week, 39 countries will start competing to win the 58th edition in Malmö, Sweden. And Barco may well be just as excited as the singers are: no fewer than 60 Barco projectors, including 28 high-brightness HDQ-2K40 projectors, will be used to create an astonishing stage. Industry professionals get the première: they are invited for a look behind the scenes of ESC during PLASA Focus, today and tomorrow.
Guided Tour and Showroom
The PLASA Focus event offers a full-day immersion into the technology of ESC 2013. Attendees can participate in seminars and choose from one of eight backstage tours, where they see the technology in action. In addition, visitors will be able to visit the ESC partners in the 'Showroom'.
At 'The Showroom', Barco and its partners Mediatec, Beacon, Green Hippo and TAIT will team up to exhibit a scale model of the ESC back wall projection. In addition, Barco's Abbe Westerlund will give a presentation entitled 'Breaking the Rules: The Barco Eurovision Solution' at 15.15h that afternoon.
Q&A
The formal part of the day will end with a one-hour Q&A session with the entire Eurovision Song Contest creative team, moderated by technical director Ola Melzig, and a networking dinner. From then, everyone can start counting down to the big day, 14 May, when the first semi-finals will begin.
