Oslo’s iconic Colosseum theater revisited: it’s unlike anything else!
1 min di lettura
Watching a movie in hall 1 of the Colosseum cinema in Oslo has always been a special treat. With its huge size (888 seats) and gigantic half dome, the theater is absolutely unique. Now, its owners, Nordisk Film Kino, have taken that up a notch: on 27 September, they inaugurated the refurbished hall, which now features outrageously comfy seats, a gigantic screen, a Barco DP4K-60L Flagship Laser projector and our AuroMax sound format. The feedback was raving!
Impressed audience
“Impressive”, “amazing”, “unlike anything else,” that’s some of the feedback we heard from the audience after watching the new ‘Askelladden’ movie at the Colosseum’s brand-spanking-new hall 1 last week. “I’m very happy to hear such positive feedback,” said Jannicke Haugen, CEO of Oslo Kino AS, after the screening. “Our technical team’s advice to choose Barco has proven very valuable!”
Very attractive ROI
The DP4K-60L laser projector that we installed in Oslo is the brightest cinema projector in the world. It displays 2D and 3D images with high contrast and superbly saturated, uniform colors. Moreover, it is capable of showing 3D movies in 4K. Stijn Henderickx, VP Cinema at Barco: “We’re delighted and proud that Nordisk has chosen our top-of-the-line projector for its amazing hall 1 at the Colosseum. Combined with our AuroMAX sound system, it is sure to treat visitors to a unique cinema experience.”
Exciting joint future ahead
Operating seven cinemas in Oslo, with a total of 27 screens, and nine more dotted across Norway, Nordisk Film Kino is Norway’s leading cinema group. It is part of the larger Nordisk Film Cinemas chain, the largest chain in Denmark and Norway (41 cinemas). Many of the 220 Nordisk auditoriums feature Barco digital cinema equipment. The Palace Theater in Copenhagen is even equipped with our AuroMax sound system.
Nordisk plans to build three new multiplexes in 2018: Bergen (Norway – 9 screens), Espjerg (Danmark, 8 screens) and Upssala (Sweden, 5 screens). All will feature Barco solutions!
