ClickShare Hub Setup Troubleshooting Guide

Getting started with ClickShare Hub should be simple, but issues can arise during the setup process. This guide walks you through the steps to fix common problems during the initial setup process.

Step 1: Verify Hardware Connections

Ensure all physical components are properly connected:

  • Power Supply: Confirm the device is powered on and receiving adequate power. (See also KB15636).
  • Display: Check HDMI connections to ensure the display is functioning. (See also KB15632).
  • Peripherals: Ensure the camera, microphone, and ClickShare Control Panel are connected and recognized. (See also KB15631).
  • Cables: Ensure no loose cable connections. Check the colored markers to ensure cables are correctly plugged.

Note: It's recommended to power cycling a ClickShare Hub after hot plugging a device or cable into the ClickShare Hub.


Step 2: Network Connectivity

ClickShare Hub devices require internet access to complete setup and sign in to Microsoft Teams.


Step 3: Account Sign-In Issues

During the setup process, the device must sign in with a resource account.

  • Credentials: Double-check the username and password.
  • Licensing: Ensure the account has a valid Teams Rooms license (e.g., Microsoft Teams Rooms Basic or Pro). (See also KB15717).
  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): Disable MFA for resource accounts or use conditional access policies that allow sign-in.
  • Microsoft remote connectivity analyzer: Verify that your account meets the requirements for Microsoft Teams user to be able to sign into a Microsoft Teams Rooms. Microsoft Remote Connectivity Analyzer.


Step 4: Software Updates

Outdated firmware or app versions can cause setup failures.

  • Teams App Version: Ensure the Teams Rooms app is up to date.
  • Device Firmware: Update firmware of the ClickShare Hub. (See also KB15533).

Step 5: Configuration Errors

If the device fails to proceed past certain setup screens:

  • Factory Reset: Perform a factory reset and restart the ClickShare Hub. (See also KB15633).
  • Provisioning Package: If using Intune or other MDM, verify the provisioning profile is correctly applied.
  • Time Zone & Locale: Set correct regional settings to avoid calendar sync issues.


Step 6: Logs and Diagnostics

For deeper troubleshooting:

  • Teams Admin Center: Check device health and sign-in status. 
  • Device Logs: Download logs via the ClickShare Configurator of the ClickShare Hub (see also KB15634) or from Microsoft Teams admin center.

If issues persist:
