The project uses the Barco Njord Cinemascope to craft a top-tier home theater experience, perfectly rendering cinematic image quality on a super large screen. It delivers an incredibly bright and richly detailed image with spectacular color fidelity.
As a flagship model in the Barco Residential series, Njord Cinemascope is designed for custom large-screen home theaters, and it provides exceptional 5K UHD resolution. It supports widescreen films natively, without requiring anamorphic lenses. Equipped with Barco’s professional-grade laser engine, the Njord Cinemascope achieves 9000 lumens of brightness, 95% image uniformity, and a DCI/P3 color gamut, ensuring precise color reproduction and outstanding contrast. The client, a movie enthusiast, envisioned to maximize the screen size to replicate the grandeur of a commercial cinema. The wish was that he can sit at home and enjoy the experience of a commercial theater. However, the room’s dimensions posed limitations: a ceiling height of 2.5 meters and a width of 6 meters. Conventional 16:9 home theater projectors could only project up to 180 inches, leaving unused wall space on either side—an outcome that fell short of the client’s expectations.

The Njord Cinemascope features a 3-chip DLP design with a 0.9-inch aperture and display of red, green, and blue colors. Its resolution of 5120×2160 closely matches the 2.35:1 widescreen aspect ratio, making it ideal for Cinemascope-format projection. Unlike traditional 16:9 projectors that require anamorphic lenses to display content on a 2.35:1 screen, Njord Cinemascope eliminates this need.
