Challenge
Despite its commitment to smart infrastructure, GIFT City encountered operational challenges due to the limitations of its existing visualization solutions. Inconsistent performance, inadequate service support, and a lack of responsiveness from the incumbent provider disrupted seamless operations. Recognizing the crucial role of visualization in GIFT City's operations, Barco delivered its flagship rear-projection cube (RPC) solution designed to meet the city's high standards for performance and reliability. A new 6x2 RGB laser videowall (ODL-721) with a controller has been implemented, offering exceptional brightness and clarity. Additionally, an existing 6x2 DLP LED videowall from another OEM has been upgraded by Barco's RGB Laser Rear Projection upgrade kit with a controller, ensuring a seamless and consistent high-performance visual experience across both platforms.
Barco’s RGB Laser ODL-721 offers exceptional brightness and clarity and is renowned as a sustainable and reliable solution. Contrary to competing Laser Phosphor-based video walls, Barco’s RGB Laser technology does not contain any moving parts (like color wheels or phosphor wheels), which are known points of failure and need to be replaced from time to time – resulting in additional maintenance costs and unwanted downtime.
