Barco projectors wow visitors at Jordan’s independence centennial

Amman, JO - 2016

In 1916, Sharif Hussein Bin Ali declared the Great Arab Revolt, seeking independence from Ottoman rule. To celebrate this momentous anniversary, the Royal Court of Jordan organized a cultural festival in June 2016. One of the many activities was a 3D mapping show featuring three prominent buildings in the capital of Amman. Long-time Barco partner BNCAV and local partner Events AVP installed and integrated Barco projectors to achieve a splendid visual and aural effect.

Barco solution

  • HDQ-2K40 projectors

Why Barco?

  • Reliability
  • Brightness
Engaging display technology
The installation involved an array of 16 Barco HDQ-2K40 projectors, which provided the razor-sharp, incredibly bright images needed to wow spectators. “We have taken celebrations to a new level by using cutting-edge display technology to engage with the public. The display highlights the things that define us as a successful, youthful, modern Jordan,” explained a member of the committee responsible for organizing the celebration.

Overcoming brand-new challenges
“This has been our most complicated project so far,” asserted Borja Gonzalez, BNCAV Operations & technical Director. “The buildings had exaggerated dimensions and areas of mirrored glass and blackened steel, and we had to contend with unusual weather conditions. We wouldn’t have been able to overcome this challenge without Barco’s HDQ-2K40 projectors. They performed flawlessly for 20 nights on end, in extreme conditions.”
