An awesome Aus Day in the Arena

PARTNERS 2 min gelezen

January 26 is Australia Day, the official national day that reflects on and honors the country’s rich history and diverse community. For obvious reasons, the usual celebrations of Australia Day 2021 were different from what they used to be; but with the technological support of our mates at Novatech (and the Barco UDX projectors), it turned out to be an exceptional event!

For the first time ever, the event, called Aus Day in the Arena, took place indoors at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre where it hosted a range of parades and live music acts that embrace the Australian diversity, spirit and optimism. The booked-out show ran twice on the same day and saw a 5,000-strong live audience for each show – seated safely in a ‘checkerboard’ pattern around the arena, complying with all health regulations.

Our partner Novatech Creative Event Technology, one of Australia's leading audio visual production companies, has proudly supported the Australia Day Council of South Australia (ADCSA)  in delivering a number of creative and innovative events for the past 14 years. And for this massive project, they proudly delivered a one-stop-solution for staging, video, projection, lighting, audio, and comms, all while also streaming the event live.

They created a 12 metre by 12 metre central square stage designed as a projection surface and added semi-transparent roll-down projection screens hung around the arena allowing those seated behind the screens to also still see the stage. Six Barco UDX-4K32s were used to cover the screens and stage with IMAG footage processed through a Barco E2 system.

AUS DAY IN THE ARENA was no small feat for Novatech and took several months of planning, but in the end they were able to realize one of the largest indoor events in South Australia since the pandemic outbreak and deliver a worthy and awesome celebration to the Australian nation. Congrats and we’re definitely looking forward to more of these great stories from our partners!
