Full control, fully secure: Belgium’s largest cybersecurity center runs on Barco CTRL
Aartselaar, Belgium · 2026
Secutec, a Belgian cybersecurity company, built a new headquarters around some of the most demanding control room requirements in the country: a security operations center, a war room and a customer experience room, all run on Barco CTRL. Working with AV integrator Whitemilk, Secutec gave its operators a single platform to manage dozens of sources from one keyboard and mouse, on a dedicated, secure network built specifically for these critical spaces.
Products
- Barco CTRL control room software, deployed across three dedicated control rooms
Highlights
- One keyboard and mouse for up to fifty AV sources
- Dedicated, isolated network for the control rooms
- Scalable, IP-based platform for future growth
About Secutec
Secutec is a Belgian cybersecurity company with 25 years of experience, headquartered in Aartselaar. What began as a reseller of third-party security products has grown into a company with its own solutions, SecureDNS, SecureSIGHT and SecureRESPONSE, alongside services spanning managed detection and response, threat intelligence, incident response and a dedicated banking division. Today, Secutec employs around 110 cybersecurity experts who monitor 2.5 billion logs a day and secure a million endpoints for more than 800 clients in 60 countries.
Challenge
To support that scale of work, Secutec built a new headquarters: roughly 2,500 square meters across four floors, housing high-end meeting rooms, management offices, multifunctional spaces, and three highly specialized rooms: a security operations center (SOC), a war room and a customer experience room. The building needed to support a wide range of AV requirements. The SOC, war room and customer experience room each pull in and display large numbers of live sources at once, for a team that cannot afford a system that is difficult to operate under pressure.
Because Secutec is a cybersecurity company, its requirements went beyond standard office AV. Content and sources in the three control rooms needed to run on a network isolated from the rest of the building's systems. And with the center built to operate for years to come, Secutec needed an architecture that could absorb new sources and applications over time, rather than requiring a system overhaul with every change.
Solution: Barco CTRL
Secutec turned to long-time AV partner Whitemilk, which had delivered the company’s previous security operations center in 2018 and was brought back in from the earliest design stages of the new building. For the three mission-critical rooms, Whitemilk built the solution around Barco's control room technology.
In the SOC, operators look out on a large-format LED video wall, with additional interactive screens integrated into the wider Barco control environment. Instead of switching between separate computers and controllers for each source, Barco CTRL gives operators a single, unified workspace: up to fifty AV sources can be accessed and managed from one keyboard and mouse. The same logic extends to the war room and the customer experience room, where sources, applications and devices come together on one consistent, intuitive platform.
Security was designed in from the start. The three control rooms run on their own dedicated network, separate from the AV infrastructure serving the rest of the building's meeting rooms and offices, a distinction that matters for a company whose own business is protecting networks.
Barco’s IP-based architecture also gives Secutec room to grow. New physical or virtual sources can be added to the Barco environment and folded into existing workflows, without requiring the underlying system to be redesigned each time.
Results
Secutec’s security team can now manage an extraordinarily complex technical environment from a single, simple interface. Instead of working across many separate systems, operators work from one keyboard and mouse, with the information they need exactly where they need it. In a security operations center, where speed and clarity matter most during an incident, that simplicity translates directly into faster, more confident decision-making.
The dedicated network for the control rooms gives Secutec the assurance that its most sensitive monitoring environments meet its own security standards. And because the platform is built to scale, Secutec’s new headquarters is ready to take on new sources and use cases as the center's work evolves, without rebuilding its control room technology from scratch.
Collaboration with Barco
The project was delivered by Whitemilk, a Belgian AV integrator that has worked with Secutec since 2018, when it installed the SOC in the company’s previous building. Whitemilk was involved from the earliest design discussions on the new headquarters, working alongside Secutec's own IT team and architectural partners to align AV, network, lighting and ventilation requirements across all four floors.
For the three specialized control rooms, that close collaboration shaped how Barco’s technology was deployed: a platform built to stay in the background, so Secutec’s operators can focus on the work in front of them rather than the technology behind it.
