Warriors Against Cancer exhibition brings stories of strength

2 min gelezen

Barco has partnered with Warriors Against Cancer, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals who are battling or have survived cancer. Focusing on the mental and physical recovery of cancer patients, they offer more than post-diagnosis support. Together, we have launched an inspiring photo exhibition showcasing the resilience of the ‘Warriors’ to share a message of hope and strength.

Golden Warriors

Photographed by David Losfeld, the “Golden Warriors” exhibition revolves around the theme of sports, particularly significant in the context of the exceptional sports year of 2024.

The exhibition features 20 artistic portraits of cancer patients, capturing their inspiring stories and resilience.

Embracing a different self

Warriors Against Cancer warmly welcomed the partnership with Barco. Vanessa Bossuyt, founder and creative director comments: “It’s inspiring that Barco is committed to supporting our mission to raise awareness about the importance of the mental and physical recovery of cancer patients. It’s not just about healing; it’s also about their self-esteem and self-image. Putting the spotlight on the beauty and strength of our Warriors means a lot to them.”

Resilience in the spotlight

“Barco has supported Breast Cancer Awareness Month for many years, as our medical displays help radiologists detect breast cancer earlier,” says Inge Govaerts, Barco’s spokesperson. “We’re proudly supporting initiatives that raise awareness for cancer screening and have found a perfect match with Warriors Against Cancer. Their artistic photography spotlights the strength of cancer patients and allows them to truly shine, both literally and figuratively. It’s a wonderful initiative.”

Giving back

The exhibition opened early October, and both Barco employees and visitors can view it at the company’s headquarters in Kortrijk, Belgium. The architecture of the Barco building complements the striking photography, making it the ideal setting for this meaningful showcase.

In addition to the photo exhibition, merchandise is available for purchase, and one of the pictures will be auctioned at the end of the year. All proceeds from these activities will go directly to Warriors Against Cancer.
