Barco releases new 4K60 Tri-Combo output card, along with enhanced expandability of its Event Master screen management platform

Kortrijk, Belgium, 6 February 2018 – Barco is releasing a new 4K@60 output card, powerful new Super-Destination programming mode and an enhanced system expansion capability. So users of its industry-leading Event Master screen management systems can considerably expand their possibilities. The new output card, along with software release 5.1, will launch at ISE 2018 at the RAI (booth 12-F100) in Amsterdam, February 6-9, 2018.
Tri-combo card

Barco Event Master screen management systems offer event professionals extremely flexible, powerful and scalable solutions for shows of all sizes. The E2 is designed for large shows, while the compact S3-4K offers similar performance, yet is more economical for smaller events. The Ex is an affordable processor which can link to E2 or S3 to provide additional inputs and outputs, locally or remotely, as well as providing additional processing resources. With this new software upgrade, event producers can create even larger screens, with more I/O and a greater number of layers possible.

Enhanced Expansion Linking support

The enhanced expansion linking support means users can scale the system to even larger shows.  Up to eight of the same chassis types can now be linked to create much larger systems, when needed. For smaller shows, the same units can be used to support multiple smaller systems. Regardless of the size of the system, Event Master continues to provide full 4K@60 4:4:4 12-bit processing and low latency.

New Super-Destination Programming Mode

With the new Super-Destination programming mode, users can program processing resources for multiple screens separately per screen, or as Super-Layers which span the larger single Super-Destination, allowing maximum flexibility of processing resources.

New 4K@ 60 Tri-Combo Output Card

Along with the software releases 5.1, Barco is now shipping the new 4K@ 60 Tri-Combo Output Card.  Like the previously-released 4K@60 Tri-Combo Input Card, the new cards each support 4K@60 4:4:4 on a single cable via DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI 2.0 and 12G-SDI.  In addition, Quad 3G-SDI I/O supports 4K@60 as quadrants or 2SI (2 Sample Interleave) or may be used to support four independent HD signals.
