Pixels, power, precision: McLeod Software conference powered by Encore3
The United States · 2025
Don’t Wonder Productions, a full-service technical production company based in Signal Hill, California, partnered with LEDT to deliver a high-impact corporate event for McLeod Software. The show marked a major milestone as the first full-scale deployment of Barco’s Encore3 image processing platform.
Context
The event in question was the McLeod Software User Conference 2025, an annual gathering of professionals from the transportation and logistics industry. Held to foster learning, networking, and innovation, the conference featured a packed agenda of educational sessions, product showcases, and keynote presentations.
This large-scale event required a visually immersive and technically precise setup. LEDT, the AV integrator, designed a custom LED wall configuration that pushed the boundaries of conventional image processing. Don’t Wonder Productions was tasked with executing technical production, ensuring seamless integration across multiple video sources, outputs, and display formats.
Challenge
The LED wall setup required four 4K outputs to feed into LEDT’s processors, a configuration that exceeded the capabilities of traditional systems. In addition to the main display, the production team needed to support two fold-backstage monitors and a record feed that could dynamically switch between camera inputs, graphics machines, and Watchout servers.
With a reputation for delivering technically ambitious shows, Don’t Wonder Productions sought a solution that could meet the demanding visual and operational requirements of this event.
Solution
The total canvas resolution reached an impressive 11,648 x 1,728 pixels, necessitating a system capable of managing multiple 4K layers per output. Don’t Wonder Productions selected Barco’s Encore3 image processing platform. The Encore3 stood out for its powerful 4K60 processing capabilities. According to Drew Poley from Don’t Wonder Productions, “the ability to have multiple 4K layers on each output was extremely necessary. We simply couldn’t have pulled this off with two E2s.”
Its scalable architecture with modular I/O cards and proven Barco reliability in high-stakes environments, allowed the team to tailor the system to the event’s specific needs. Despite encountering some technical issues from the LED provider, the Encore3 allowed the team to maintain a high-quality output throughout the event. “The Encore3 gave us the flexibility and power we needed to adapt on the fly and deliver a great show.”
Results
The deployment of the Encore3 enabled Don’t Wonder Productions to deliver a visually stunning and technically flawless experience. The Encore3’s flexibility proved essential in navigating last-minute adjustments and maintaining consistent performance throughout the event. The end client, McLeod Software, was extremely satisfied with the result, praising the seamless execution and visual impact.
