The Wired RoomDock functionality of the CX-50 Gen2 provides additional flexibility, allowing the user to do video conferencing via a USB-C wired connection to the room audio and video peripherals, in environments or situations where the use of wireless communications is restricted. Wired RoomDock can also be used to share 4K@30Hz content.
To use the Wired RoomDock, connect a USB-C to USB-C cable between the front USB-C port of the CX-50 Gen2 Base Unit and a laptop’s USB-C port supporting display port alternate mode.
Most cables under 2m supporting USB 3.1 and display port alternate mode should work. When a length greater than 2m is required, customers are advised to carefully select the cable as not all cables will work as intended. Alternatively, customers can purchase the 5m cable described below that has been tested and validated by our engineering department.
