ClickShare CSE-800

Release notes

=== A number of issues from the earlier firmware version has been resolved ===

  • The 1.8.1 firmware introduces a solution to an issue that was introduced in the 1.8 firmware by which it was impossible to upload a certificate via the ClickShare Configurator.
  • Note: the issue could only be encountered when doing a new configuration with manual certificate upload with 802.1x wired authentication or when doing a reconfiguration.

  • Some settings were not configurable via the Configuration Wizard.
  • Configuring 802.1x with EAP and manual certificate upload results in "Please enter a value with a valid mimetype".

=== Important notes to consider before upgrading ===

  • This firmware introduces a mechanism for the auto renewal of (self-signed) certificates when they are expired. The user will not notice anything from this process.
  • As from the 1.8 firmware version, support for older Buttons without certificate (article number R9861006D01) is dropped on CS-100 (Huddle), CSE-200, CSE-200+ and CSE-800 models.
  • Support for MirrorOp has been dropped and we advise to work with the ClickShare apps.
  • For the Windows driver for ClickShare to detect the Button, they require an update. This will go automatically via update over Wi-Fi. Alternatively they can be paired and updated manually by plugging the Buttons into the respective Base Unit. More information can also be found on https://www.barco.com/en/support/knowledge-base/KB9619
  • Guidance with regards to the new and updated integration options can be found in our Network Integration Guide and the respective product manuals.

v1.8.0.6

ClickShare is adding a set of important features to its portfolio. The new functionalities will improve both the user experience as well as the ClickShare IT friendliness

=== The main features this release includes ===

  • Custom Button Integration allows for greater flexibility when integrating your ClickShare devices by giving you full control over both the Button connection and the wireless settings of the Base Unit separately. This allows to enable presence detection for the ClickShare desktop App when the Button is fully integrated in the corporate network and to support direct connectivity for guests or BYOD.
  • Windows driver support for the ClickShare Button on Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10. The Windows driver removes the last hurdle in the ClickShare Button experience by removing any need for manual action before sharing. The Windows driver automatically launches the ClickShare Client on the Button, allowing to click the button without any user action. The Windows pc will automatically download the driver from the Windows Update store upon first insertion of the ClickShare Button (internet connection required).
  • Prevent laptop going to standby when a Button is sharing content to the Base Unit for an improved experience during presentations.

=== Next to the addition of features, a number of known issues from the earlier firmware version has been resolved ===

  • In certain instances, the internal Wi-Fi module became unavailable and required a reboot of the Base Unit.

v1.7.1.1

===What is new===

  • This firmware improves the experience of our customer base that is increasingly making use of the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band.

    • The 5 GHz band is now preferred over the 2.4 GHz band by the ClickShare Button in network integration mode in case an SSID is present on both bands with similar quality levels.
    • Moreover, the scanning behavior in the 2.4 GHz range has been improved to make sure the Buttons connect to the most optimal access points in network integration mode.

v1.7.0.22

===What is new===

    Enable more interactive meetings with our new Touchback feature! When connecting a touch screen to your Base Unit, it is now possible to interact with the presenter. computer with touch. No need to install drivers, search for the USB cables or work with a dedicated room system: bring your own device, plug in a Button and discover a whole new level of collaboration.

    Note: Touchback feature only works when used with Buttons with serial number R9861500D01 or R9861500D01C, and only when one presenter is on screen. For immediate use of the feature, make sure to pair the Buttons after updating. No configuration is needed on the Base Unit. List of supported touch screens can be found in the technical documentation section of the product page.

  • Support for the Button Manager

    ClickShare now makes it easier for IT or facility managers or venue hosts to pair a number of ClickShare Buttons to a Base Unit in a particular meeting room without actually requiring physical access to the room or Base Unit. More information about the Button Manager can be found here: www.barco.com/product/clickshare-button-manager

  • HDMI input controls

    It's now possible to keep your HDMI connected while having full control over the visibility of the source. Via the ClickShare Configurator you can opt to enable or disable it. This functionality is also available via the API!

  • Changing resolution over REST API needs to be done differently than described in the manual
  • API changing resolution doesn't work
  • Cosmetic typo in WebUI French
  • Wrong translation in Norwegian
  • Base Unit reboots at random moments in time
  • Airplay in stand-alone mode visible but not sharable
  • Airplay in CNI visible but not sharable

v1.5.2.3

=== What's new in this release ===

  • Update privacy policy and EULA.

=== Things we fixed ===
  • Wireless SSID still shown on dashboard page in corporate network integrated mode.

  • Youtube in Firefox not captured in full screen.
  • Extended desktop and primary monitor words are not the same in Japanese.
  • ClickShare client stopped working after start up.

v1.5.1.2

=== Remark ===

  • To be able to use the mobile devices in Corporate Network mode, after updating to v1.5, the user needs to check "Enable over LAN". Please refer to https://www.barco.com/en/support/knowledge-base/KB5281

=== Things we fixed ===
  • When upgrading a CS-100 or CSE-200 Base Unit to 1.05.00 and network connected, in a non /24 network, the base unit will not have the correct subnet mask (as DHCP client) resulting in the Base Unit not being reachable - by CMGS or ClickShare Configurator. This results in the base units’ web UI not being reachable anymore and the buttons not being able to reach the base unit in Corporate Network Integration. Updating will require one to have a device in the same subnet as the Base Unit or update through a USB thumb drive.
  • When upgrading from 01.05.00 to a higher version the base unit may not accept the update (workaround: enable Allow firmware downgrade and the update will continue)

v1.5.0.12

=== What's new in this release ===

  • Start your meeting quicker
    The time before a Button is ready to share when plugged into a personal computer has been drastically reduced with 30%. That's a lot more time to share brilliant ideas or work on bright outcomes.
  • Perform during your meeting
    Enjoy real end-to-end 30 frames per second with audio and video in perfect harmony. Our adaptive algorithm makes sure you can stun your audience during your meeting.
  • Plug and update
    Download the update for your Base Unit from the Barco website. Extract the zip file and put it on a USB stick without re- naming. Plug the USB into your Base Unit and enjoy the newest release. Of course, you can also update your fleet using the auto-update functionality or the Collaboration Management Suite. This is only applicable after updating to 1.5.
  • Auto-discovery
    Adding your Base Unit to the Collaboration Management Suite has never been easier. Now all our CSE-range Base Units support auto discovery when plugged into the network and running the Collaboration Management Suite centrally.
  • Updated blackboard
    Enjoy quick and reactive blackboarding capabilities on our CSE-800 and smooth lines while drawing. You can now change the size of the eraser by using your hand or creating a bounding circle by using your fingers.
  • Mixed mode
    Sharing through mobile devices has never been easier. You can now enjoy sharing over the wire while the Buttons still connect to the Base Unit directly. Hence without configuring network integration. To do so, simply browse to the Services page on the ClickShare Configurator WebUI and select "Enable over LAN".

=== Things we fixed ===
  • (Alpha)numeric passcode
    • We now use the standard passcode support included in the Airplay protocol. But it left us no choice then to drop the alphanumeric passcode, which is officially not supported. Hence security level 2 now uses numeric passcodes by default.
  • And a lot more
    • Added the ability to use both Ethernet interfaces on the CSE-800 for auto-update, corporate network integration and REST interface capabilities. This requires the interfaces to be connected in different subnets
    • Added the ability to retrieve the MAC address of the Button via the ClickShare Configurator webUI
    • Added a preview for the HDMI input when using moderation on the CSE-800
    • Fixed an issue where the ClickShare Button Client crashed on macOS
    • Fixed an issue where an update would fail until reboot
    • Fixed an issue where the auto-update server could not be reached if the Base Unit had a manual IP configuration
    • Fixed an issue where the IP address of the Ethernet interface was not displayed on screen
    • Fixed an issue where the secondary Ethernet interface could not be reached when on different subnets
    • Fixed an issue where the Button sometimes was unable to connect to the Base Unit.
    • Fixed an issue where the notifications on Windows or macOS were wrongly displayed because of a long meeting room name
    • The following CVE's have been fixed with respect to the Krack Attack vulnerability
      CVE-2017-13077: Reinstallation of the pairwise encryption key (PTK-TK) in the 4-way handshake.
      CVE-2017-13078: Reinstallation of the group key (GTK) in the 4-way handshake.
      CVE-2017-13079: Reinstallation of the integrity group key (IGTK) in the 4-way handshake.
      CVE-2017-13080: Reinstallation of the group key (GTK) in the group key handshake.
