Barco Healthcare is continually looking for ways to streamline radiology workflow and support the best patient care. We are proud that with SpotView and Coronis Uniti we can help healthcare professionals to achieve both, with proven enhancements to workflow and the possibility to reduce mammographic radiation dose without impacting diagnostic accuracy.
Barco to highlight advanced imaging tool, breast imaging display solutions at IWBI 2018
Atlanta, GA – July 05, 2018 – Barco, the leader in global healthcare imaging, will exhibit its advanced imaging tool SpotView, in addition to the Coronis Uniti® 12MP and Nio Color 5.8MP display systems, at the International Workshop on Breast Imaging (IWBI) in Atlanta, July 9-11.
Study proves that it is possible to reduce mammographic dose without impacting diagnostic accuracy
A recent study by Elizabeth A. Krupinski, PhD, FSIIM, Professor, Radiology & Imaging Sciences, at Emory University, found that with SpotView and I-Luminate™ it is possible to reduce mammographic dose without impacting diagnostic accuracy. The paper, “Reducing Radiation Dose in Digital Mammography by Increasing Display Luminance,” also highlights that SpotView can increase reading accuracy by 6% and reduce reading times by 16%.The study, largely performed on Barco’s Coronis Uniti display, points to the overwhelming clinical advantages of SpotView.
High-bright color display improves diagnoses and workflow
Barco's Nio Color 5MP renders excellent color and grayscale breast images. Its high brightness (500 cd/m2), high contrast ratio and calibrated color help users discern the most subtle image details for an accurate diagnosis. And the additional resolution allows users to fit more of the image on the screen for reduced panning and zooming.
Barco to present at IWBI, Tuesday, July 10
Barco continues to focus on clinical research and development around improving breast cancer detection for better patient outcomes. At IWBI, Barco will present research on the detection of clinically relevant spiculated breast masses in a study titled “An Anthropomorphic Model Observer for Spiculated Masses” presented by Ali Avanaki, Senior Research Engineer for Barco Healthcare.
