RoHS compliance

Barco fully understands all the environmental risks connected with the use of certain hazardous substances contained in electronic equipment and believes that legislation plays a crucial role in promoting the transition of the industry towards the restriction of substances of concern.

As part of its commitment to worldwide environmental compliance, Barco has established an environmental management system which ensures full compliance with the requirements of the EU RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU on the restriction of the use of cadmium, hexavalent chromium, mercury, lead and certain halogenated flame retardants (PBBs and PBDEs) in electronic products.

Since 2009 we started our Supplier Sustainability Program with the aim of establishing our own database of chemical and material information related to all our components and parts and to pursue environmental compliance best practice.

Barco also encourages its suppliers to provide Full Material Declarations of their articles with the aim of minimizing all the data maintenance efforts. These data are currently used to enhance our products’ environmental performance and to anticipate future regulatory developments.
