Barco’s JAO Smart Terminals make inroads into Middle East market

1 min read

The King Fahad Medical City (KFMC) hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia has ordered 140 Barco JAO Smart Terminals for patient bedside applications. The new terminals, which will be showcased at the upcoming Arab Health trade show, will help the hospital enhance the productivity of its healthcare workers while, at the same time, improving patient well-being and comfort.

JAO Smart Terminals offer patient entertainment as well as a variety of healthcare and communication applications for the clinical staff. They help ensure a more comfortable stay for patients in the KFMC hospital. The clinical staff, for its part, will be able to access patient data by the bedside, which enhances the level of care. “The Barco brand instills trust: Barco is a global market leader with a strong presence in the Middle East,” commented Mr. Abdullah Al-Ismail, Administration for Health and Information Technology at KFMC.

The 140 Barco JAO Smart Terminals will be installed by local Barco partner Jeraisy Computer and Communication Services Company (JCCS) soon. They will be fully customized to the needs and wishes of the KFMC hospital, and come complete with mounting arms and specialist point-of-care software.

“This deal with the King Fahad Medical City hospital is an exciting step in strengthening our position in the fast-growing Middle East healthcare market,” explained Warren Kressinger-Dunn, VP of Healthcare, Point-of-Care. “This order shows the hospital's faith in Barco and its newly extended product range.”

Barco experts will demonstrate the JAO Smart Terminals in the Belgian pavilion at Arab Health 2013, from this 28 to 31 January.
