Barco announces ANVISA and showcases new diagnostic displays with LED backlights at JPR 2013

DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING 1 min read

From 2 to 5 May last, Barco exhibited at the largest radiology congress in Latin America, the 43rd JPR Meeting in São Paulo, Brazil. Barco presented its latest diagnostic displays with medical-grade LED backlights, such as the market-leading 30” Coronis Fusion 6MP display system, which attracted a record level of attention and positive reactions from eminent hospitals and clinics.

Leadership in product technology

“At this year's JPR we witnessed a large increase in visitors shopping for PACS and digital mammography systems. This really is a welcome trend in the market,” said Marcos Barboza, Sales Manager for Barco Healthcare in Brazil. “The reaction to the new slick design of Barco’s diagnostic products with medical-grade LED backlights was overwhelming. The displays look different to anything else on the market today. In Brazil we appreciate good design, especially within the private hospital and diagnostic imaging center market. In addition, the noticeable step forward in image quality was appreciated by all that visited our booth to see the new products, which included the Coronis Fusion 6MP, Coronis 3MP Greyscale, Nio 3MP Color and the brand-new 22” Eonis medical-grade review display.”

ANVISA for mammography displays

“We were also delighted to communicate to the market in Brazil that Barco has now received ANVISA for its medical displays for digital mammography and breast tomosynthesis.” ANVISA is the offical Brazilian regulatory body, which controls the marketing and selling of products used in medical, dental, and physiotherapeutic procedures, as well as in diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and patient monitoring.
