Together with Vega Project K.K., part of VEGA Group, the vision was clear: creating a space that doesn’t just host events, but completely immerses guests in them.

Mandarin Oriental Tokyo has long been synonymous with refined, high-end experiences. As expectations around both weddings and corporate events continue to evolve, the hotel identified an opportunity to rethink its ballroom as a versatile stage for storytelling.

Guests today are no longer satisfied with beautiful surroundings alone. They are looking for moments that feel personal, immersive, and memorable – whether it’s a couple celebrating their wedding day or a brand trying to captivate an audience during a keynote. To meet these expectations, the hotel partnered with Vega Project K.K. to explore how advanced audiovisual solutions could elevate every type of event hosted in this space.

For Mandarin Oriental Tokyo, the challenge was twofold. On one hand, weddings demanded emotional, magical environments that couples would remember for a lifetime. On the other, corporate events require clarity, flexibility, and impact to keep increasingly demanding audiences engaged.

Traditional setups could no longer meet these expectations. The ambition was to create an environment that could deliver both intimacy and scale, both elegance and innovation, all while maintaining the seamless service standards Mandarin Oriental Tokyo is known for.

To bring this vision to life, the ballroom was transformed into a fully immersive environment, powered by twelve Barco G62-W14 projectors. Carefully installed to deliver seamless 360-degree projection, the setup wraps guests in visuals from every angle, turning the room itself into a storytelling canvas.

A key advantage of the G62 platform is its compact and lightweight design, which makes it particularly well-suited for environments where discretion and flexibility are essential. In a luxury setting like Mandarin Oriental Tokyo, technology must enhance the experience without dominating the space. The smaller footprint of the G62 projectors allows them to be integrated elegantly into the ballroom, preserving clean sightlines and the refined aesthetic of the venue, while still delivering the brightness and image quality required for immersive storytelling.

This thoughtful integration enables the ballroom to fully transform depending on the occasion. This was showcased during several key events, such as wedding fairs and corporate events. Throughout these events, Barco’s projection played a central role in shaping the experience, unlocking both creative freedom and operational versatility.
