This amazing theater is created as a ICE Cinema™ by Consexto. The cinema is called "Madeira" The cinema is located on the small island of Madeira, in a stunning villa. Consexto delivered a cinema that marries performance with design. A perfect example of how clients fall in love when exposed to the right type of private cinema demonstration.The house was already finished, but when the family had their first private cinema experience at the Consexto showroom… they decided that is what they wanted one in the privacy of their home.Consexto got to work and designed a stunning cinema with motorized seating platform, around a well-engineered audio and video system. The result is jaw-dropping performance in a beautiful space.
Context
High‑End Home Theatre Design Featuring Barco Technology
This cinema features an impressive design and craftmanship, all done by one of Europe’s best AV integrators, Consexto. They have been doing this for over 10 years and are known for design, craftmanship and of course quality.
No movie theatre will ever be enough once you experience the true power of a Consexto Home Theatre. You will be renouncing the minimalist life for one that’s colorful and surprising. All adapted to the architecture of each space, ensuring optimal acoustic treatment and allowing you to take advantage of the best possible performance of all equipment. Skyfall is a powerful room built with the main platform featuring 3 front cinema seats, as well as a second row cozy and fully customized sofas, providing a "family preset".
In the case of having more guests, the first row can slide automatically to the front, revealing an extra row of 4 seats for a better use of the available theatre space. This holistic approach optimizes the use of available space. The customer is a big movie fan, especially the James Bond films. Linked to this, he is also an Aston Martin collector. All of the technology is equipped with a personal assistant, the "Moneypenny", that can be activated by calling her, integrating every technology into one simple voice controlled platform. Consexto combined the design and technology elements in this cinema without being too conspicuous. It simply needed to be classic and luxurious.
Challenge
Acoustic, Visual, and Projection‑Based Constraints in a Luxury Apartment
While doing as much as possible to maintain proper viewing angles and distances, the other issues in this space became readily apparent. “The sound, somehow, needed to match the scale of the video system in boldness, yet not be seen, or interfere at all with the interior finishes, decorative elements or furniture. It had to be effortless to control, too – so that one could watch two independent sources, but only hear one — and then instantly merge both systems into a single audio and video experience.” Careful audio calibration was a must, given the hard, Art Deco surfaces, walls of glass, and furnishings.
The video had its own challenges – while the client wanted the biggest screens possible, the image would be absolutely blinding at these distances without careful adjustments that still preserved excellent pictures.
Solution
Technology, Acoustic Optimization, and Barco‑Driven System Integration
Cantara pulled off the installation of dual drop-down Barco projectors, screens, hidden speakers, and even a DJ-input wireless mic-and-music rig that had to integrate perfectly with all the other sound systems in this luxury LA apartment. CEDIA’s judges were taken with this project, also awarding it the 2020 CEDIA Award for Innovative Solution. Cantara’s work on the rest of this home earned CEDIA’s Highly Commended honors for Best Integrated Home, Level IV.

Overall, the result is a themed private cinema that balances cinematic scale with comfort and control in a residential environment.
