Clickshare client session drops, Wi-Fi connection to Base Unit remains connected

Article number: [15218]

Applicable to

Some Access Points (AP) and controller devices providing DHCP for Wi-Fi connections may experience session timeouts. This issue has been observed with the Corporate SSID, where the Wi-Fi connection remains active, but the sharing session terminates after a defined amount of time depending on the setting. Users can reconnect by starting the sharing session again (push the Clickshare Button again).

This issue has been confirmed with the Cisco Catalyst 9105AX.

The default session timeout setting under Catalyst WLAN Advanced settings is 1800 seconds (30 minutes). After this period, clients must reauthenticate. To prevent session timeouts, adjust the session timeout setting to a higher value. If unsure of the longest sharing time required, set the timeout to the maximum possible value.

By following these steps, users can ensure uninterrupted sharing sessions while maintaining a stable Wi-Fi connection.
