3D Line interleaved
With the 3D line interleaved video standard, the two video channels L and R are combined into a single video channel. The even lines of the video are for the left video channel, and the uneven lines of the video are for the right video channel.

The benefit of this 3D video standard is that 3D can be transferred over a single cable, with a standard resolution. This way, standard video cabling, and transmission systems can be re-used. This also means only half of the image is sent for each frame, dividing the needed bandwidth by half.
The downside of this 3D video standard is that the image cannot be shown on a 2D display as such and cannot be scaled. Also, only half of the image is sent every frame, creating an effect similar to interlaced video.
