Can I change how sources that are connected to the HDMI™ in ports are displayed?

Yes.

Standard behavior is that the HDMI input will be shown in the composition with the other sources. To remove it from the screen when using the ClickShare App or ClickShare Button, either long-press the ClickShare (virtual) Button to remove all sources except yours from the screen or use the moderator functionality (CSE-800 only)

To change this behavior:

With the CSE-200+ and CSE-800, one can choose to either have the HDMI input on screen when no-one is sharing and to be replaced when someone is sharing their personal device through BYOD protocols, HDMI input 2 (CSE-800 only), the ClickShare apps or the ClickShare Button.

This is especially useful when you have an in-room computer or a signage player, which should only be on screen when no-one is presenting from their personal device.

To configure this, connect the fixed source (pc or player) to the HDMI 1 input port of the device and in the configurator of the device (or XMS), go to Display & Audio > Outputs > Screensaver and select HDMI as ScreenSaver Mode. Select after how much time of inactivity the HDMI screensaver should be shown and you are all set. Note that for this to work on the CSE-800, the HDMI 1 input port should be used for this purpose.

Can I control which sources that are connected to the HDMI input ports are shown on the screen?

 Yes.

  • By default, the HDMI input on a ClickShare Base Unit behaves in a similar fashion as the Button or App and will be added to the default layout if there is space available. If both HDMI input ports are used, they will both be displayed. The first source that is connected will be displayed first.
  • If you wish to see or not see an HDMI input source into the composition, use the moderation functionality on the CSE-800 (see [KB5037]) to control which source can be displayed (on which screen)
  • For all ClickShare models, an API commands to toggle on/off an HDMI source is available and different modules for Crestron, Overture,.. are available. More information on the API can be found in the download section below.
  • Last, in the configurator of the device, you can (permanently) disable an HDMI input port.

Can I change the order in which the sources are displayed on the screen(s)?

This is only possible on the CSE-800

  • By default, the HDMI input on a ClickShare Base Unit behaves in a similar fashion as the Button or App and will be added to the default layout if there is space available. If both HDMI input ports are used, they will both be displayed. The first source that is connected will be displayed first.
  • To control which source is displayed where you can use the moderator functionality on a CSE-800 device. All other models will auto-layout sources onto the screen.
  • If there are 2 displays attached to the CSE-800 you can change the display out order. This can be configured in the WebUI. (Display & Audio -> Outputs)
