Introduction
Not every workstation is turned on every day. Think about spare workstations, workstations from users who are on long-term leave etc. It can be annoying when you receive 'Workstation connectivity issues' from QAWeb Server for these workstations. Luckily, QAWeb Server provides you with the possibility to fine-tune these settings.
How workstation connectivity is measured
Each day, the workstation sends out a heartbeat to QAWeb Server. If this heartbeat from a particular workstation is not received for several days, QAWeb Server will inform you that this workstation has a 'Workstation connectivity issue'.
Connectivity lost period
The number of days the QAWeb Server will wait before informing you of a workstation connectivity issue is called the 'Connectivity lost period'. This is a parameter that can be configured in the policies on the QAWeb Server.
How to configure the connectivity lost period
- Log in to the QAWeb Server with your user credentials.
- Browse to the organizational scope on which you wish to change the 'Connectivity lost period' setting (we recommend fine-tuning this for individual workstations only).
- Click 'Policies' in the left-hand menu.
- Scroll down to 'Workstation policies'
- Verify the scope to make sure you are making the changes on the right level (in our example below, the scope is one workstation with the name 'Coronis 4MP on Carousel')

- Click [View policy]
- Under 'Settings', click on [View setting] Next to 'Connectivity Lost Period'
- Type in the number of days you want to allow this workstation to be offline before generating an issue on the QAWeb Server (Default = 3) and click [Apply].
- Click [Finish] to confirm.
- The setting is now applied.
