Issue

We have noticed that when the ClickShare Extension Pack v1.1.1.4 is installed on a Windows 10 machine running build 1903, the extended desktop feature doesn't work anymore.

When selecting Extended Desktop in the Desktop App or via the ClickShare Client either nothing happens or a message will be displayed in order to install the Extension Pack.

Solution

This issue has been fixed in the ClickShare Extension Pack v1.2.0.6, released in April 2020.

  • We recommend uninstalling the previous version and a reboot before installing the new version.
  • Make sure that your Base Unit is up-to-date with the latest firmware version.
  • After upgrading the Base Unit firmware make sure to re-pair your Buttons.
  • When you install this Extension pack on Windows 10 version lower than 1709, there is a Windows update you will need to re-install the extension pack.
Note:

The latest version of the extended desktop driver will only work with Buttons of the 2nd generation (model number R9861500D01 or R9861500D01C - compatible with CS/CSE models) and 3rd generation (model number R9861600D01C or R9861600D01CUS - compatible with CX models).

As a consequence, the extended desktop functionality is not available on CSM-1 and CSC-1 models. An overview of the different Buttons and their compatibility with ClickShare Base Units are given here: [KB6454].
