Ensuring safe traffic on Brazil’s highways

VIDEO WALLS 1 min read

40 LED-lit projection modules, 10 controllers and 5 workstations: when it comes to visualization, Arteris S.A. (Obrascon Huarte Lain), one of Brazil’s largest toll road concession holders, fully relies on Barco gear. Arteris chose Barco’s solutions on account of the technical superiority, as well as the support offered by the regional Barco Brazil team. “We believe the Barco video walls will help us make our highways the most modern and secure in the country,” said Arteris’ System Manager Casagrande.

Three months from idea to rollout

In 2010, Arteris Brasil started deploying a state-of-the-art Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) at the Operational Control Centers of its five federal concessionaires. To visualize the information, video walls were needed. In the course of three months – from initial idea to actual rollout – all five control rooms were equipped with Barco’s OVL-815 and OVL-715 walls, including controllers and PWS workstations.

Great help

Operators at the newly-equipped control centers now have a bright overview of the 3,226 km of highways under their supervision and can clearly view images from the over 800 CCTV cameras. Besides the brightness of the projection modules, Arteris Brasil also praises the system’s user-friendliness, as well as the maintenance-free operation. “They’ll be a great help, thanks to their great performance, versatility and hassle-free maintenance,” concluded Casagrande.
