Did you know already? We are part of the Belgian Pavilion at the Osaka World Expo this year! During its Health & Well-Being Week from June 20th to July 1st, we are presenting our upcoming, innovative autostereoscopic 3D technology, offering visitors a chance to experience this impressive visual technology firsthand. We also participated in a Belgian royal mission to the exposition.
#Osaka2025: Welcome at the Belgian Pavilion
The World Expo 2025 is happening on Yumeshima, an island in Osaka Bay, from April 13 to October 13. With over 28 million visitors expected, including 3.5 million from overseas, it’s an impressive edition with water-themed relaxing areas, spacious outdoor event plazas, and unforgettable experiences around every corner.
The Belgian Pavilion is themed around "Human Regeneration," focusing on prevention, healing, and rebuilding. This theme aligns well with our vision of using technology to support better patient outcomes.
Autostereoscopic 3D technology?
Visitors to the Belgian Pavilion during its Health and Well-Being Week will be wowed by our autostereoscopic 3D display.* This technology will allow healthcare professionals to work with 3D visuals without the need for special glasses. Its use cases will be varied: from better insights into medical images to easy patient communication. As such it fits the theme of Health & Well-Being Week perfectly.
Royal Life Sciences mission
The Health and Well-Being Week at the Belgian Pavilion started last Friday June 20th, which was also the last day of a Belgian royal mission which focused on life sciences. The mission consisted of visits to Osaka and the World Expo including networking events and panel sessions, and welcomed Belgian MPs and representatives of all Flemish partners that contributed to the Belgian Pavilion, amongst which Barco.
That’s not all
In addition to our 3D technology, the Belgian Pavilion – as well as several other pavilions – is also equipped with more Barco tech from our Entertainment and Meeting Experience teams: twenty-four I600 projectors, three UDX projectors and two ClickShare units.
Our participation in the Osaka World Expo 2025 and the Belgian Pavilion’s Health & Well-Being Week underscores the Barco commitment to innovation and our role in the visualization industry!
