Barco Residential wins big at CEDIA 2026

CEDIA is the biggest stage in residential technology, and this year Barco Residential owned it. Across projectors and LED video walls, our products swept up 7 awards from the outlets and organizations that integrators trust most: Projector Central, Projector Reviews, the Home Technology Association, Technology Designer Magazine, AV NIRVANA, and LED Wall Central.

Four products. Seven awards. One show. That kind of run does not happen by accident, and it says a lot about where the whole portfolio stands right now. Here is a look at every win, what it recognizes, and why it matters for the dealers and homeowners who will actually live with these products.

The Freya+ SST projector picked up Best of Show awards from both Projector Central and Projector Reviews, two of the most closely followed voices in the projection world.

According to Projector Central, the Freya+ SST projector was built specifically for high-end home theaters, offering more contrast and a wider color gamut while operating at the performance level of Barco's reference Thor projector. It is derived from the commercial DCI Series 4 platform (the same platform behind the SP4K-12C and SP4K-15C), and it combines a native 4K three-chip DLP engine with RGB laser illumination, delivering up to 13,500 ANSI lumens of brightness.

What makes Freya+ interesting for integrators is the ICMP-XS mFusion processor built into the unit. mFusion is an all new, next generation server which handles cinema processing, content management, audio processing, media-server functionality, with solid state internal storage, which means a room can play authorized Digital Cinema Package content without a separate cinema server attached. At the same time, the projector accepts standard consumer sources over HDMI, so the same room can function as both a professional screening environment and a residential theater. That flexibility, paired with DCI compliance, is a big part of why the projector stood out to voters.

Projector Reviews has not published its own award writeup yet, but Barco has received the award directly at CEDIA 2026. The website positions itself as the industry's leading authority on projectors, including newer Laser TV categories, and reviews everything from portable and gaming projectors to high-end 4K home theater units. A second Best of Show nod from a website with that depth of comparison is a meaningful signal, even ahead of the formal writeup.

Heimdall took home Best Video Projector at the 2025 HTA Product of the Year Awards, and this one carries a different kind of weight because of who is doing the voting.

The Home Technology Association's awards are not judged by critics or editors. They are decided entirely by HTA Certified integrators, the companies that specify, install, and support this equipment in real homes every day. Voters weigh performance, reliability, ease of installation, manufacturer support, long-term durability, and overall homeowner satisfaction. In other words, this award reflects how a product holds up after the install truck has left, not just how it performs in a showroom demo. For a projector aimed at demanding home theater clients, that is about as strong an endorsement as it gets.

Technology Designer Magazine named Runar a Best Product winner in its 2026 Technology Designer Performance Home Awards. The publication's editorial focus this year was on how technology increasingly disappears into the architecture of a home, supporting whole-house automation while staying visually out of the way. Runar's inclusion on that list reflects Barco's approach to building a display that performs at a reference level while still fitting into a considered interior design.

Projector Reviews also named Runar a Hot Product, with the formal announcement still pending publication on their website.

The most eye-catching recognition, though, came from AV NIRVANA, which gave Best of Show honors to the Runar LED theater built in collaboration with Focal and Naim. Following Barco's acquisition of VerVent Audio Holding earlier this year, Focal and Naim now sit within the Barco portfolio, and CEDIA 2026 was the first real opportunity to show what that combination looks like in a finished room.

The demo at Barco Residential's booth paired the Runar LED Wall, which uses Micro LED in Package technology, with a full 7.0.4 audio system: Focal's Astral 16 AV processor and amplifier, Focal 1000 Series in-wall and in-ceiling speakers, and Naim CI Series amplification. Source playback ran through Kaleidescape, giving visitors a chance to experience the system with premium better-than-disc-quality video.

Focal also used the moment to introduce the Diva Alta Utopia, its new flagship active wireless loudspeaker, which pairs Utopia-level acoustics with Naim's integrated streaming technology and comes in a range of felt and lacquer finishes. It was not part of the Runar theater itself, but it underlined the larger point AV NIRVANA was making: under one roof, Barco, Focal, and Naim can now cover video and audio at the very top of the market.

Rounding out the list, the Vali NT0.9-I earned a Best of Show Award from LED Wall Central, a new award category the publication introduced specifically for CEDIA 2026 to track the growing presence of LED wall brands in high-end residential installs.

The Vali NT0.9-I uses a combination of SMD and Flip Chip technology to deliver color uniformity, strong contrast, and high brightness, with glare-free modules that make it a practical option for rooms with significant ambient light, not just dedicated dark theaters. Barco's manufacturing tolerances keep the surface flat with minimal seams between modules, and the onboard processing is tuned to hold up both at full brightness and at the lower brightness levels used for cinematic viewing. 

At a 0.9 mm pixel pitch, the wall can be configured across a wide range of sizes and shapes, and every installation includes Barco Residential's White Glove Service, with two Barco engineers who install the wall to our exacting standards.

What stands out across all of these wins is the consistency. Whether the judges were technology editors, independent integrators, or design-focused publications, the same themes kept coming up: performance that holds up under real use, engineering that stays out of the way of the room, and support that does not end at delivery. That is the bar Barco Residential set for this generation of projectors and LED walls, and it is good to see it recognized so broadly, by so many different corners of the industry, at the same time.
