Barco LS4K – HDR Laser Projection for Cinema
The Barco LS4K is a next‑generation HDR laser projection solution that brings HDR by Barco to a 4K laser platform designed for premium cinema.
HDR for Cinema
With energy consumption similar to a conventional SDR projector, the LS4K delivers up to six times brighter highlights and five times deeper blacks. This dynamic performance is driven by Barco’s Lightsteering technology, which redistributes light in every frame to emphasize bright regions while preserving deep shadows. The result is a more immersive image that draws audiences deeper into the story.
Barco Lightsteering
Lightsteering is Barco’s patented technology developed specifically for HDR cinema. Building on Barco’s expertise in laser projection, the LS4K introduces a new optical architecture that expands color gamut and increases contrast. The result is a more expressive visual canvas that supports filmmakers’ creative intent.
A Complete HDR by Barco Solution
HDR by Barco is an end‑to‑end solution for reliable and consistent HDR playback. The LS4K sits at the center of this ecosystem and is delivered with its dedicated pedestal, HDR lens, Barco media server, and calibration camera as an integrated package. A tailored service model supports operational needs, and the broader HDR by Barco program combines technology, certified HDR titles, services, and marketing support to create a premium experience for exhibitors and audiences.
Premium at Scale
The LS4K enables exhibitors to deliver premium HDR presentation without the high upfront investment traditionally associated with premium formats. With HDR by Barco activated on LS4K, cinemas of any size can offer a deeper level of audience immersion and scale as HDR adoption grows worldwide.
