Overview
The macOS ClickShare Launcher is designed to automatically launch the ClickShare application when a ClickShare Button * is connected to a macOS device. Once installed, it runs silently in the background and does not appear in the macOS Launchpad apps list. This launcher is included as a PKG file in the ClickShare Extension Pack, which you can download for free from our website.

Note (Apple Silicon Macs)
When using the ClickShare Button for the first time on a Mac with an Apple Silicon processor (such as M1, M2, M3 or similar models), Rosetta must be installed to ensure proper compatibility. If Rosetta is not yet installed on the device, you can install it manually using the steps below:
- Press Cmd + Space to open Spotlight, type "Terminal", and launch it.
- In Terminal, enter the following command
softwareupdate --install-rosettaand press Enter: - When asked to agree to the license, type a and press Enter.
- Rosetta will automatically install and complete without further action.
⚠️ Note (End of Rosetta Support)
On Apple M‑series devices, the ClickShare Desktop App currently runs using Apple’s Rosetta 2 translation layer.. Apple has announced that Rosetta will be removed in macOS 27 and later. When this happens, the Desktop App will no longer function unless updated for native Apple Silicon.
Barco is working on a native ARM version of the ClickShare App to ensure continued support. For details, see Apple end of Rosetta support and impact on the ClickShare App.
