Description

This article describes how to connect to the Clickshare Base Unit Wi-Fi. Furthermore, it provides information on where to look for the ClickShare Base Unit SSID, Wired IP and Wireless IP (Wi-Fi) address information.

Connecting to the ClickShare Base Unit Wi-Fi

Connecting to ClickShare Base Unit Wi-Fi can be required when you wish to share content from your mobile devices or when you wish to access the Base Unit's web Configurator of a non-networked device.

  1. The first thing to do is to find the Base Unit's Wi-Fi name, the so-called SSID.

By default, the SSID on a CS-100(Huddle), CSE-200(+) and CSE-800 device will be shown in the information boxes of the default splash screen, as can be seen in the image below - see item 1 -, or in the top left corner when a custom wallpaper has been configured. When unchanged, the default SSID is "ClickShare-<Serial number>". If this does not work or if this information is not shown, please follow the instructions on "How to find the IP address of your Base Unit via the ClickShare Desktop application" in [KB11142] to find the information in the web configurator of the device.

On the CX-20/30/50 and C-5/10, this information is not shown by default on the splash screen. In most cases, when the unit has already been set up, the meeting room name and SSID will be the same and when the unit has just been taken out of the box (or after a factory reset), the SSID will be "ClickShare-<Serial number>".

  2. Secondly, connect to the Base Unit's Wi-Fi. On your PC, go to Settings, then Wi-Fi and select the Base Unit's SSID from the network list.

    Example: Representation purpose only

  3. Login to your ClickShare Base Unit Wi-Fi. The default password is "clickshare"

Locating the ClickShare SSID and Wireless IP: CS-100(Huddle), CSE-200(+), CSE-800

By default, the SSID (label 1), Wired IP (label 2) and Wireless IP (label 3) information on a CS-100(Huddle), CSE-200(+) and CSE-800 device can be found on the splash screen displayed on the meeting room screen.

Note

By default, the ClickShare SSID is visible. However, you can choose to hide the SSID using the settings in the Web Configurator. If the SSID is hidden you can still connect to the ClickShare Wi-Fi, but the method depends on the operating system of your device. You can find instructions for your operating system online.

Keep in mind that SSID's are case sensitive when entering a custom SSID in the ClickShare configurator.

ClickShare SSID is only shown when the ClickShare Base Unit's Wi-Fi has not been turned off.

When a CSE-200+ is integrated into the network by using the wireless client mode, the name of the network the unit is connected to will be shown at the location of label 1, and its wireless IP will be shown at the location of label 3. When a ClickShare CSE-200+ is connected to a wireless network, its Wi-Fi access point will be disabled.

In case you cannot locate the SSID of the unit, please follow the instructions on "How to find the IP address of your Base Unit via the ClickShare Desktop application" in [KB11142] to connect to the Base Unit and you will find the network information in the web configurator of the device.

Please refer to the ClickShare Network Integration whitepaper for further details on the different setups. A direct link to this whitepaper can also be found at the bottom of this article.

Locating the ClickShare SSID and Wireless IP: CX-20/30/50 and C-5/10

By default, the network information is not shown on the splash screen. To be able to view this information on the splash screen, you can change the configuration in XMS or the web Configurator of the device, under Personalisation > On-Screen ID. This information will then be shown under the instructions window when no one is sharing.

In case you cannot locate the SSID of the unit, please follow the instructions on "How to find the IP address of your Base Unit via the ClickShare Desktop application" in [KB11142] to connect to the Base Unit and you will find the network information in the web configurator of the device.
