We have had a few customers that reported similar issues from 9th May onwards that when still running on outdated firmware the ClickShare device remains on the Barco logo during boot. This issue only shows on units that did not get a firmware update for over 2 years and is not present on units running latest firmware versions.
Steps to recover:
- First stop the ClickShare App from running in the background on the PC you use to connect to the base unit.
- If you can access the web interface by connecting to the Base Unit SSID which is normally clickshare-xxxxxxxx, (x = serial) and default Wi-Fi password is clickshare use a browser to connect to 192.168.2.1 with default username/password admin/admin . Alternatively if you can connect to the LAN Base units IP address access the WebUI interface is by connecting to the corresponding IP address with default username/password admin/admin. If you do not know the IP address you can directly connect a crossover LAN cable to the Network port of the base unit and connect to the fallback IP address using a browser to http://192.168.1.23. Set your laptop IP address to 192.168.1.xxx (except 23) and subnetmask 255.255.255.0.
- In the web interface go to services and disable Google Cast and AirPlay. This should allow the system to boot normally.
- Then do a software upgrade to 1.12 for the CSE series or 2.23 for the C and CX series depending on the model.
Note:
-
If the CSE-200/100/800 devices have a software version lower than 01.04 it will need to be upgraded to 01.04 as an interim step. For details, see KB4674.
-
If the username/password have been lost, then it will need a factory reset as described in these articles:
-
If the Base unit is not reachable: Try a factory reset by using the reset button on the Base Unit.
-
If the web interface is not accessible, try a USB upgrade as described in how-to: KB5923.
We always advise to keep ClickShare device on up-to-date firmware (how-to, see KB5923).
