Overview
The macOS ClickShare Launcher is designed to automatically launch the ClickShare application when a ClickShare Button is connected to a macOS device. Once installed, it runs silently in the background and does not appear in the macOS Launchpad apps list. This launcher is included as a PKG file in the ClickShare Extension Pack, which you can download for free from our website.

Note – Apple Silicon (M-Series) devices
When using the ClickShare Button for the first time on a Mac with an Apple Silicon processor (such as M1, M2, M3 or similar models), Rosetta 2 must be installed to ensure proper compatibility. If Rosetta 2 is not yet installed on the device, you can install it manually using the steps below:
1. Press Cmd + Space to open Spotlight, type Terminal and launch it.
2. In Terminal, enter the following command softwareupdate --install-rosetta and press Enter.
3. When asked to agree to the license, type a and press Enter.
4. Rosetta 2 will automatically install and complete without further action.
⚠️ Note – End of Rosetta Support
On Apple Silicon (M-series) devices, the current ClickShare Desktop App relies on Apple’s Rosetta 2 translation technology. Apple has announced that macOS 27 (Golden Gate) will be the final release providing full Rosetta 2 support, with Rosetta 2 no longer available for general use beginning with macOS 28.
Barco is working on a native ARM version of the ClickShare App to ensure continued support. For details, see Apple end of Rosetta support and impact on the ClickShare App.
