ClickShare CX-50 2nd generation is now ANSSI CSPN certified, and what that means for hybrid meetings

Hybrid meetings live at the intersection of people, devices, and networks. What’s said in a room can travel far beyond it, across laptops, Wi-Fi, video platforms, and cloud services. That brings flexibility, but it also raises the stakes for security. As meeting rooms become more connected, the need for trusted, secure technology only grows.

That’s where independent validation makes a difference. Frameworks like the ANSSI CSPN certification (Certification de Sécurité de Premier Niveau), issued by the French Cybersecurity Agency (ANSSI), provide reassurance through structured, third-party evaluation.

We’re proud to share that our ClickShare CX-50 2nd generation has obtained ANSSI CSPN certification. With this recognition, Barco has become the first and only provider in the wireless conferencing market to achieve ANSSI CSPN certification, and currently the only video conferencing hardware endpoint known to hold this certification.

For organizations operating in regulated or security-conscious environments, this offers a clear, independent reference point. It confirms that ClickShare meets stringent, independently validated standards of security, privacy, and confidentiality in every meeting.

What is ANSSI CSPN certification and why does this matter?

ANSSI is France’s national authority for cybersecurity and cyber defense. It combines regulatory oversight with operational expertise, including threat intelligence and incident response for critical infrastructure.

CSPN, or Certification de Sécurité de Premier Niveau, is a rigorous framework for validating the security of IT products. Evaluations are based on real-world attack scenarios, not just theoretical models.

The certification process is carried out by accredited laboratories that assess products against strict technical and security requirements. Certification applies to a specific product version, meaning solutions must be re-evaluated to maintain compliance over time.

In simple terms, CSPN certification gives security teams a trusted, third-party answer to an important question: has this product been independently tested and validated?

Key requirements include:

  • Security evaluation: Independent testing of product resilience
  • Access control: Strong authentication and authorization mechanisms
  • Data protection: Safeguards for data in transit and at rest
  • Auditability: Logging and monitoring of security events
  • Operational reliability: Resistance to common attack methods

As with all CSPN certifications, the evaluation applies to a specific product version and defined scope. Like any certification, CSPN does not guarantee the absence of vulnerabilities. It does, however, provide a trusted, independent assessment of a product’s security under clearly defined conditions.

Where CSPN certification matters most

CSPN certification holds particular value in environments where security is non-negotiable:

  • Government and public sector: French public-sector buyers rely on ANSSI’s Visa de sécurité and certified solutions catalogue when selecting technology.
  • Critical infrastructure: Sectors such as energy, telecommunications, and transport operate under strict national security requirements. In France, they are classified as operators of vital importance and must follow ANSSI-defined rules to secure critical systems, where independently validated solutions are often preferred.
  • Financial services: CSPN certification supports due diligence and risk management by providing independent validation of a product’s security.
  • Healthcare and privacy-sensitive industries: Healthcare and similar sectors handle highly sensitive personal data and must meet strict GDPR requirements for protection and access control.

What this means for IT decision-makers

CSPN certification is more than a label. It brings structure and clarity to security decision-making.

The certification applies to software version 02.20.02 of ClickShare CX-50 2nd generation, including both the Base Unit and the Button, as well as ClickShare Desktop App for Windows (v04.37.5). As CSPN certification is version-specific and requires renewal, it ensures ongoing alignment with evolving cybersecurity requirements.

For IT and security teams, this helps in three practical ways:

What this means for ClickShare customers

ClickShare CX-50 2nd generation is designed for high-impact hybrid meeting spaces. It allows users to connect to room devices wirelessly and run meetings from their laptops, while keeping the in-room experience consistent for everyone.

With CSPN certification, customers working in regulated or security-conscious environments can now rely on an independent, government-backed validation when choosing ClickShare for spaces where sensitive conversations take place.

Cross-border recognition: France and Germany

For organizations operating across borders, certification alignment matters.

ANSSI and Germany’s Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) have a mutual recognition agreement between the French CSPN scheme and the German BSZ framework. Under the defined scope and conditions of that agreement, CSPN certificates can be recognized in Germany, reducing the assurance burden for organizations operating across both markets.

Security at the heart of ClickShare

Security is not an afterthought. It is built into ClickShare from the ground up, with end-to-end encryption, a hardened software approach, and regular updates guided by a clear security policy.

Achieving ANSSI CSPN certification reflects a long-term commitment to making collaboration technology safe to use. It is a natural step in continuously raising the standard for secure hybrid meetings.

As hybrid work becomes the norm and meetings involve more sensitive information, expectations will only grow. ClickShare is ready for that. And now, there is independent validation to prove it.

At ClickShare, we keep security a top priority. With ANSSI CSPN certification, we further strengthen our commitment to helping organizations collaborate with confidence, knowing their data is protected at every step.

Security has long been part of Barco’s DNA and remains a business-critical priority in how we design and develop collaboration technology. With CSPN certification, we provide customers with an independent third-party reference that supports trust, compliance expectations, and security due diligence when deploying video conferencing in regulated and security-conscious environments.
