Wireless BYOD (Zoom, Webex, or Google Meet) call in Microsoft Teams Rooms (ClickShare Hub Core/Pro)

Article number: [16064]

Applicable to

Overview

Wireless BYOD allows you to run a meeting from your own laptop in a Microsoft Teams Room while using the room’s:

  • Camera
  • Microphone
  • Speakers
  • Display

You can join meetings from platforms like Teams, Zoom, Webex, or Google Meet using your laptop, while still benefiting from the room’s audio and video equipment.

How-to-steps

  1. Enter a Microsoft Teams Room equipped with a ClickShare Hub device.
  2. Plug the ClickShare Button into your laptop.
Once the ClickShare Button is connected, your laptop automatically connects to the room’s audio, video, and display devices, which appear as selectable peripherals in your meeting (UC&C) application (Teams, Zoom, Webex, or Google Meet).
  3. Join your meeting from your laptop:
    • Use your calendar, or
    • Open the meeting directly in your meeting application (Teams, Zoom, Webex, or Google Meet)
The system automatically uses the room’s audio, video, and display during the meeting.
    Note – meeting control:
Your laptop acts as the host and controller of the meeting. Perform all meeting controls (mute, camera on/off, share, end call) on your laptop—not on the ClickShare Control Panel.
  4. Press the ClickShare Button to share content to the room display.
  5. Share content directly within your meeting application.

Note – End a BYOD call:
Leave (exit) the call within your meeting (UC&C) application on your laptop. For complete steps and alternative methods, see KB16065.
